While in Dubai over the weekend, my friend Justin and I took in a few games at the Dubai Rugby Sevens. I typically don’t get wrapped up in sports much… and this time was no different. I spent most of my time snapping photos of the gaggle of people, most of whom were decked out in an assortment of costumes. I did take some actual photos of the game, but not many… Press on to see more.

Day 204: The Tallest Building on Earth
As promised, here’s more shots from my trip to the Burj Khalifa. In reviewing the photos, I wish I’d taken more of the waiting area (where the miniature white version of the building stood) and the hallways. Everything was really well designed and laid out. I’m notorious for critiquing some of the design choices over here, but this stuff was actually very nice. Oh well. Hindsight and all that…
Onward for more photos!
Day 203: Do-Buy
As the title says, this is a shot taken from the Burj Khalifa, the current tallest building in the world, located in Dubai. Since I have lots of photos to edit (in this example, lots = 350+), I’m going to tease today, and please tomorrow (and maybe Tuesday, too). I’m also going to throw in some shots from the Dubai Rugby 7s (mainly stolen crowd shots and people in nutty costumes) and shots of an impressive choreographed water cannon show (I really don’t know the proper term for it). As for the shot above, I think it’s decent, but towards the top of the frame, there’s some unintended light trails from stationary light sources. It was pretty windy on the building, even with all the protective glass around (which, incidentally, also protected me from getting really got shots), so there was slight wobble, but overall I think it’s pretty sharp. Come back for more tomorrow, won’t you?
Day 110: Speed of Light
I snapped this photo on the way to the Dubai airport. It’s got a fluid quality that I really like. I considered posting just the photo, but this quote from Woody Allen seemed like a perfect companion to the abstract imagery. And that’s all there is to it. This weekend looks to be rather busy with other projects and pastimes so be prepared for a few more of these over the next couple days. But who knows, maybe I’ll surprise myself.
Day 3: Dubai Airport Run
This is a quick entry today. I snapped this heading to Dubai to pick up Marcus from the airport. Enjoy.
