Finally had time to digest the LOST series finale and I’ve tried my best to organize my thoughts/feelings on it. It’s by no means a comprehensive break-down of the episode, just the stuff that made an impression on me. I’ve posted it below the jump in the event that you haven’t seen it and don’t want to be spoiled. Short version: I liked it and I’m sad it’s over (thus the Dharma symbol). Long version… well, see below.

Day 6: LOST – The End
Once again I’ve dipped into the LOST well for some inspiration for today’s piece. I’m seriously going to mourn this show when it’s over. I know there are a lot of people who want to hate the finale, but if you’ve stuck with the show this long, why would you want it to fail? I am happy the show was able to end on its own terms, telling the story the writers wanted. Everyone has their own opinions on what LOST should be, and it’s just amazing that so many people are so invested in this show and want it to be so many things. Just like The X-Files before it, and Twin Peaks before that, LOST is a cultural milestone, something that people will talk about and debate and re-watch years from now. I am glad I got to see the show from the beginning and I’m glad I’m getting to see it go out with a bang. Hope everyone who’s going to watch the finale enjoys it.
Day 5: LOST – Jacob vs. MiB
I’m continuing with the LOST-themed posts today, thanks to an awesome idea by my friend Andy. I’m not a great artist, but I think I’d make a great inker because I can trace like a sumbitch. That’s my tasteless way of saying I had a lot of photo references for this piece. I’ve always wondered if that invalidates my work because I needed to look at something to get it right. But if Rob Liefeld does it and gets paid good money and still gets work, then I guess I’ll be okay. Enjoy.
Day 4: LOST – (F)Locke
I’m a huge fan of the television series LOST and I’m pretty upset about its finale next week, but at least the show was able to go out on its own terms and tell the story it wanted to tell. Sure, it’s not going to satisfy everyone, but I’ve really enjoyed this final season. With that said, as big of a fan as I am… I don’t think I’ve ever done a piece of LOST fan art. So, I’m throwing my hat in the ring. I’m going to try and write up a review of the series finale and post it here sometime next week. Many thanks to Nick for giving me the idea to do something LOST related. Enjoy.
